Erin Cadigan is an artist working the fashion industry for over a decade. She designs both womens apparel and soft goods accessories with a focus on the streetwear, contemporary and trend markets. With in these markets her work specializes in surface and textile development. Erin has created innovative fashion and textile design for both emerging designers and multinational corporations. Her collaborations and clients include Adidas, Grassroots California and young designer Lindsay Jones.
Erin started her career as a freelance illustrator and visual artist. She brings this background into her design work, combining her love of graphics with her love of fashion. In her position as head designer for Renee's NYC, she has created custom prints, dye effects and jaquards for companies including Anthropology, TJX Companies Inc and Barney's NY. Her textile and design work is created using both handi-craft and CAD and often incorporates multiple finishes and textures.
Erin graduated with a BFA in Illustration and Printmaking from University of the Arts in Philadelphia. In addition she received a postgraduate degree in Fashion Design from Helen Le Feaux, a bespoke fashion program in Vancouver, B.C. focusing on patternmaking and construction methodology. Currently Erin is an instructor in the Fashion Department of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. She runs her own sustainable streetwear line THREE Erin Cadigan. Her first undergraduate textbook, Sourcing and Selecting Textiles for Fashion is being released by AVA/Bloomsbury Publishing in August 2013.
